![]() ![]() ]: massive target, do not use as commander. Power dependant on other slivers being present. I also have all 5(6) sliver commanders, and here is my assessment of them: The way I keep my deck at a reasonable power level for my playgroup (mostly casual with a few very strong decks that quickly become archenemies) is by using Temples and tri lands instead of shocks and fetches etc. Slivers are my favourite tribe, and I have had a sliver deck for years. ![]() But, the best Sliver commander in my opinion with The First Sliver, even when built as tribal deck.Ī Sliver deck with the right manabase and support is terrifying to anyone who doesn't know how to keep them in check. They seem to be able to move a little faster than just Hivelord since all he does is create indestructible Slivers (strong, but can be dealt with easily). If you're still adamant on building Sliver-Tribal, I would suggest going with Overlord or Queen (if you have the budget for her). I'd like to note that my duel lands are all proxies I bought on Etsy, I did not spend 3k on that deck haha (I did however spend the other about 1k on the other 90 cards). This is my First Sliver deck if you're curious. I ended up switching to The First Sliver/Food Chain combo deck, which when built to play anywhere near a competitive power level, doesn't really have Slivers in it. My problem with Slivers is that they are incredibly easy to deal with being creatures, and thus the staying power of a Hivelord deck just isn't there, at least that's how it felt with my playgroup. Personally, I like being the threat on the table (hence having a Kaalia, Eldrazi, and Sliver deck). It was okay, but with just creatures and having the name "Sliver" you seem to get hated a little more.
